Our Story
How We Got Started
RescueLife’s journey began as a heartfelt response to the large-scale war that erupted in Ukraine. Jorge, along with a group of individuals, embarked on a short humanitarian mission to Ukraine, where they witnessed firsthand the unfolding crisis. In the Kharkiv region, they encountered many locals, which opened Jorge’s eyes to the critical need for knowledge in first-aid, bleeding-control, and resuscitation.
After returning to Spain, Jorge felt a compelling urge to go back to Ukraine and provide the much-needed first aid training. He reached out to contacts in Ukraine and returned with a team of paramedics to train the territorial forces of Kharkiv. In the summer of 2022, Jorge connected with Kateryna through social media, and together, they launched a campaign to continue the missions. This led to the third mission in September 2022, where they began offering training in public schools in Kyiv and the surrounding region.
By September 2023, RescueLife had evolved into a stable project, marking its fourth mission. This time, they were able to extend their reach to more regions in Ukraine, including Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kyiv, and its surrounding areas, providing free training to over 1500 individuals. Throughout these years, what started as Rescubike, grew into the RescueLife Foundation, operated primarily on personal funds and donations, demonstrating a profound commitment to bringing lifesaving skills to communities deeply affected by the conflict.
Where We Are Now
We are on officially transitioned from self-funding project to a functioning entity dedicated to life-saving first aid training. With our roots in providing crucial knowledge in first aid and bleeding control, we have steadily grown in scope and reach.
As we continue to expand, we are actively seeking passionate individuals to join our team. These new team members will play a pivotal role in broadening our impact and enhancing our capabilities.
In addition to team expansion, we are forging new partnerships. These collaborations are vital in extending our reach and enhancing the quality of our training programs. They not only bring in a wealth of expertise and resources but also help in spreading awareness about the importance of first aid and bleeding control in both civilian and military spheres.
Furthermore, as a non-profit organisation, we are continuously seeking financial support to sustain and grow our mission. This funding is crucial for maintaining the quality of our training programs, developing new initiatives, and ensuring that our life-saving skills are accessible to a wider audience without financial barriers.
In summary, at this exciting juncture in our history, RescueLife is poised for growth, driven by a commitment to save lives through education and empowerment.
